All About Me  

                          

When I was growing up I always loved goofing off and making people laugh. As a matter of fact, in high school I was voted a senior favorite as the “Most Wittiest” girl.  I had always dreamed of being on stage either acting or singing, but there was one big problem … I had no talent!  

I was so excited in 2004 when the Kentucky Derby Festival started a new clown training class; I knew I had to be a part of that. Being the chicken that I am I wasn’t sure if I could go through with it; then one day while watching a Disney movie I heard this saying…..

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. From now on you’ll be traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey.” ~unknown~

So, I decided to put my fears aside and off to Clown College I went…and thus Sweet Petunia was born. It took a long time to find a look that matched Sweet Petunia’s personality, but I finally did. After that I feel in love with sharing the art of magic and comedy with children of all ages just to watch them smile. In 2006, after 20+ years as a Social Worker I started my own children’s entertainment business, “All Around Clowning”.

Now after a couple of years having entertained over 10,000 children and adults at birthday parties, picnics, shopping centers, festivals, day care centers, and summer workshops, I have once again changed my look. With the new softer look I can assure you Sweet Petunia remains that same sweet, loveable, soft-spoken, silly clown. I will still offer the traditional clown face upon request.

I am available for birthday parties, picnics, festivals, day cares, malls, block parties, clubs and organizations. Also, I am a member of Clowns of America International and the South East Clown Association.
